Ross Blankenship is expected to take over as the head baseball coach at Sam Houston High, sources tell KPLC.
Blankenship, who played at Sam Houston High and McNeese State, resigned as the head coach at West Monroe in late May after the Rebels lost in the first round of the playoffs. It was his second season in Monroe.
The 31-year-old Blankenship coached at St. Louis Catholic for a few seasons and led the Saints to the Class 4A state title in 2011.
KPLC's Seth Lewis will have more on later editions.
