CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office arrested 57-year-old David Randel Duplichan of Kinder on Thursday on charges of theft over $1,500 and exploitation of the infirmed.

Authorities said an investigation revealed that between March 2010 and February 2012 Duplichan stole over $72,000 from an elderly acquaintance's bank account. He also admitted to selling a truck belonging to the victim for $7,000. Detectives also learned that Duplichan had been previously jailed in Lafayette Parish on charges of misappropriation of contractor's payment.

His bond has been set at $100,000 by Judge Kent Savoie.
