AUSTIN, TX (KXAN/CNN) – A man accused of driving into a crowd of people and killing four at South by Southwest was in court for the first time Wednesday in Texas.
Rashad Owens, 21, is facing charges of capital murder, murder while evading in a vehicle and aggravated assault.
Police say he was trying to get away from police when he drove right into the crowd back in March.
Investigators say they were trying to pull him over for a DUI check.
Owens' next court date is July 8.
