SHARP COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A Jacksonville man leads police on a high speed chase through Sharp County in a stolen vehicle.

Sheriff Mark Counts said that on Monday around 9:45 a.m., Hardy police responded to a man who stated that his green 1994 Ford Ranger pickup truck was stolen from the First National Bank.

About 45 minutes later, Cherokee Village Police spotted the truck in the city. When police attempted to stop the vehicle, it sped away—leading police on a high-speed pursuit on Highway 167. A pit maneuver was used to stop the truck near Evening Shade.

The driver, William Burgess, 30, of Jacksonville and the passenger, Kimberly Rogers, 33, of Austin were arrested and taken to the Sharp County Jail, waiting for formal charges to be filed.
