    A group of novice and would-be beekeepers recently suited up in protective gear to check hive boxes at Richard Hebert's bee yard near DeRidder. The group is part of the first basic beekeeper training class offered by the LSU AgCenter. LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) -

Officers with the Lake Charles Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash at the Cricket Wireless building on Gerstner Memorial Drive on Tuesday.

The driver smashed through the glass window at the front of the store, but no injuries have been reported.

Deputy Chief Mark Kraus released the following statement in a news release regarding the incident: "The elderly female driver stated that while pulling into the parking space in front of the store, she applied the accelerator instead of the brake."

The investigation continues.
