Boil advisory issued for parts of Allen Parish

ALLEN PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

A boil-water advisory was issued Monday for some customers of the West Allen Parish Water District.

An official with the water district said the advisory was issued after a water main on La. 190 was broken.

The advisory covers all customers along La. 190 between Reeves and LeBlanc as well as those on the following roads in Leblanc: Snooky's Road, Geeter Parker Road, Will Gilley Road, Double G. Farm Road, Jim Parker Road, Gety Up Lane, White Road, Megan Lane, Raymond Austin Road, Martin Tram Road, Methodist Camp Road, Retreat Road, Gene Bell Road, Ray Johnson Road, Gill Road, Huckleberry Road, J. Potter Road, Sand Pit Road, Radio Tower Road, Bouie Road, Mayhaw Lane and Walker Road.

It is recommended that residents in the area disinfect their water before consuming it.

Water should be boiled for one full minute in a clean container.
