CROWLEY, LA (KPLC) -

One woman is dead, following a single-vehicle accident that took place at about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday near the intersection of Goodrich and Harmon roads in Crowley.

According to investigators with the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office, a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Nicole Marie Hebert of Crowley veered off of the roadway and into a ditch before overturning. Both Hebert and her passenger were ejected.

Hebert was pronounced dead at the scene by Acadia Parish Coroner Dr. Mark Dawson.

The passenger, identified as Ricky Paul Sonnier, was transported to American General Hospital with severe injuries.

The investigation continues.
