OBERLIN, LA (KPLC) -

One Oberlin man is dead and another is facing a second-degree murder charge following a Sunday night shooting, authorities said.

A spokesman with the Allen Parish Sheriff's Office said authorities were called to West 10 Street around 8:30 p.m.

The spokesman said when officers with the Oberlin Police Department arrived on the scene, they found an armed David Bourge. Bourge allegedly pointed a gun at officers but was disarmed.

Michael Pitre, 48, was found slumped over in the front seat of a vehicle. Pitre was transported to an Alexandria hospital, where he later died.

Bourge, who is facing a second-degree murder charge, was transported to a Lafayette hospital with unknown injuries.

The Oberlin Police Department asked the Allen Parish Sheriff's Office to investigate.
