SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA (KPLC) -

The man wanted in connection with a May 14 theft at a business in downtown Lake Charles has been arrested, city police said.

Lt. Kevin Kirkum said Bradley James Mallet was arrested in Iowa on Thursday by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office. He will be charged with misdemeanor theft and unauthorized use of an access card.

Bond was set at $15,000.

Kirkum said Mallet "tried to alter his appearance by dyeing his hair since the commission of the crime."

Authorities claim Mallet and Melissa Renee Miller stole a wallet from a purse left in the office area at Candice Alexander's art studio. The suspects then used credit cards from the wallet to charge almost $3,000 at various locations around the city, authorities said.

Miller, who is facing a misdemeanor theft charge, has not been located. Her bond has been set at $2,500.

Anyone with information can contact Det. Sgt. Timothy Richards 337-491-1338.
