DEQUINCY, LA (KPLC) -

Authorities are searching an area south of DeQuincy Thursday afternoon after a Calcasieu Correctional Center trusty walked away from a work detail.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said 34-year-old Shane Keith Hilton went missing around 2:30 p.m. He was last seen in the area of Marcantel Road and La. 27.

Myers said Hilton is a non-violent offender.

Hilton is 5-foot-8 with short brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing an orange jumpsuit.

Myers said the trusty has multiple tattoos, including the word Hilton on his chest, a woman in a swimsuit on his back and a cross on his left hand.

According to records from the CCC, Hilton was arrested April 6 on charges of direct contempt of court. He is also facing a theft charge.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 337-491-3605 or 911.

This is the second time in a week that a CCC trusty has walked away from a work detail. Scottie Carrier walked away from Burton Coliseum on Friday and was captured Saturday afternoon off of Royer Loop in Sulphur.
