Bogus beggar busted

Good morning!

Agnes DeRouen in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we're working on for 7News@Noon.

A nearly $25 billion budget has been approved by state Senators in Baton Rouge. At noon, we'll explain how the plan would include new spending on health care and education programs. State workers would get a raise, but there's a catch. You can read more about it HERE.

A bogus beggar has been busted. We'll have the story of a man who's been cashing, in pretending to be a panhandler. You'll be able to see how he got caught in the act at noon, and you can read more HERE.

Also today, we'll tell you about a new weight loss procedure that is sparing patients time and money.   It's a minimally invasive treatment to help those who are overweight and struggling to shed extra pounds.

Plus, the story of two best friends – a goat and a donkey – separated by chance, and reunited with the help of some caring volunteers.

Ben tells me we can expect much less rain today with widely scattered storms during the afternoon and evening. What can we expect on Friday and on into the weekend? Check out Ben's live, local weather at noon for the answers.

Remember, you can always watch us online at kplctv.com and on air. We hope you join us, and have a great day!
