LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) -

City police have issued arrest warrants for the man and woman wanted in connection with a theft May 14 at a business in downtown Lake Charles.

Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said Brad James Mallett and Melissa Renee Miller have been identified as the suspects seen in surveillance video from Candice Alexander's art studio.

"The investigation revealed two suspects entered the store, stole a wallet from the office area and fled the scene," Kraus said Wednesday in a news release. "The victim's credit cards were (then) used at various locations around the city."

Both suspects are still at large. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lake Charles police at 337-491-1311 or Crimestoppers at 337-439-2222.

Mallett is facing charges of misdemeanor theft and unauthorized use of an access card. His bond has been set at $15,000.

Miller is facing a charge of misdemeanor theft and her bond has been set at $2,500.

Alexander said the wallet belonged to one of her employees and records show the suspects spent nearly $3,000 before she could cancel the credit cards.
