(CNN) - The IRS released data that shows government employees, including those at the IRS, aren't paying taxes.
According to the report, 3.3 percent of federal employees and retirees owe the government $3.3 billion in unpaid taxes as of Sept. 30.
They either couldn't pay the full amount owed when they filed, got hit by an audit or were told they owed more than they paid.
USA Today requested the information under the Freedom of Information Act.
The IRS itself had a delinquency rate of nine-tenths of a percent.
The report also showed the departments with the highest non-compliance rates were The Department of Housing and Urban Development, The Department of Veterans Affairs and the Army.
