Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office to host youth fishing derby

CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office will host their annual Youth Fishing Derby from 6 to 9 a.m. on June 7.

The event is being held at the CPSO Farm Pond, located at 5400 E. Broad St. behind the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

The derby is open to children ages 15 and under. Participants are asked to bring their own gear, including poles, ice chests and bait, with a limit of one per person.

The event is free, and refreshments will be served.

    The Chennault International Airshow has canceled its Friday night show due to high winds, officials have announced. Saturday and Sunday's shows are still scheduled.
