CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Louisiana Department of Education, will offer a Summer Food Service Program, beginning June 2 in the parish.

The program will include free breakfast and lunch Mondays through Fridays for children ages 5-18. No registration is required.

Breakfast will be served from 8 to 9 a.m. Lunch is from noon to 1 p.m. Food is not allowed to be taken off the premises at the eight participating locations. The program ends July 25.

The program sites are DeQuincy Primary, Gillis Elementary, J.I. Watson Elementary, LeBlanc Middle, Starks High School, W.T. Henning Elementary, Vinton Elementary and Western Heights Elementary.

Sites will not be open on July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
