EUNICE, LA (KPLC) -

A Eunice man has been booked on a host of charges, after authorities said he committed a traffic violation and led them on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle.

Officers with the Eunice Police Department observed 25-year-old Randall Mabb driving a Dodge Stratus and disobeying a stop sign at the intersection of W. Magnolia Ave. and Samuel Dr.

When officers tried to pull Mabb over, he sped down Eisenhower Street, heading toward La. 190. He was going 65 miles per hour in a 25 mile-per-hour zone, authorities said in a news release.

"The vehicle then turned East on Hwy 190 and accelerated to approximately 110 mph while fleeing from officers," Deputy Chief Varden Guillory Sr. said in a news release. "He was later involved in a crash when the vehicle struck a bridge railing and a utility pole."

Following the crash, Mabb exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Mabb was taken into custody and transported to the Acadian Medical Center with minor injuries.

Mabb was released from the medical facility and booked into Eunice City Jail on charges of aggravated flight from an officer, resisting an officer, DWI, driving under suspension, motor vehicle theft, no proof of insurance, no seat belt and a stop sign violation.

The vehicle driven by Mabb was identified by authorities as one that was stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Pearl Street.

Mabb remains in the Eunice City Jail with his bond set at $13,750 by 27th Judicial District Judge James Doherty.
