SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA (KPLC) -

A Tennessee woman is making headlines after finding a mystery figure inside a broken garden gnome.

Heather Andrews said she wasn't sure what the smaller statue was, but some claim it could be the head of Jesus, an angel or a woman's body. You can read more about Andrews' find at http://bit.ly/1lEnTop.

One KPLC viewer and Facebook fan said she has identified the mystery figure, while another said a similar thing happened to him.

Amy Kratzer, of Welsh, said the statue is an angel and submitted a photo to back up the claim. Comparing the photos, one can see many similarities between Kratzer's photo and the one from Andrews. Kratzer said Andrews' find is the result of a slip-up at the factory.

Chad Stanley said he found a ballerina and a bust of Detroit Pistons great Joe Dumars, who played at McNeese State in Lake Charles, inside a pelican statue a month ago. Stanley said the Dumars bust had Pistons 4 on the front and Dumars on the back.

Another KPLC viewer said finding statues inside other statues is not uncommon.

Shawn Blank said it is called reconstituted slip. He said if a statue has imperfections and is still soft enough, some manufacturers will try to recycle it by putting it back in with a large batch of mud or clay. If the imperfect statue is not completely mixed in, it can find its way into larger statues.
