BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Louisiana State Police Cadet Class 92 graduated 46 new troopers Thursday morning and Gov. Bobby Jindal will officially swear them in later in the day.

The graduation ceremony for the men and women who successfully completed the Louisiana State Police Training Academy was held at the BREC Independence Park Theater and Cultural Center.

The cadets will form on the steps of the Louisiana State Capitol at 1:30 p.m. where they will complete their badge-pinning ceremony. Following the ceremony, Jindal will conduct the oath of office to the newly badged troopers in the Senate chambers of the Capitol.

"I am extremely honored to present our newest graduating class of Louisiana State Troopers," said Col. Mike Edmonson, superintendent of LSP. "The badge they will receive is not a given right but a privilege earned and granted to them by the citizens of Louisiana. These men and women will be sent out across our state to protect life and serve their communities as uniform patrol troopers. They will be held to the highest standards of honor, integrity, respect and service to continue the proud tradition of the Louisiana State Police."

Louisiana State Police Cadet Class 92 participated in a "monument run" in downtown Baton Rouge on Monday with members of the LSP command staff. The cadets ran in formation singing cadence through downtown and to different historical spots around the Capitol.
