KINDER, LA (KPLC) -

A bicyclist sustained only moderate injuries Tuesday morning in a head-on crash with an 18-wheeler, authorities said.

Kinder police said a 15-year-old boy ran a red light at the intersection of La. 383 and U.S. 165 and hit the 18-wheeler.

The teen was transported to a Lafayette-area hospital.

No charges were filed but authorities said the 18-wheeler did have some damage.
