Big meeting tonight for Sasol zoning request

(KPLC) (KPLC)
LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

Sasol's expansion project can't move forward, unless the company gets the zoning changes it has requested.

Sasol has asked that about 1,500 acres in the Mossville area be rezoned to heavy industrial. The company is also asking that a number of roads be abandoned, because they are located in the middle of the $21 billion industrial complex Sasol is trying to build.

The Calcasieu Parish Panning and Zoning board will discuss the requests Tuesday at a 5:30 p.m. meeting at the Police Jury office at 1015 Pithon St. in Lake Charles.

The police jury will then take final action at a meeting Thursday.
