Graphic Video: Hero cat saves kid from vicious dog attack

BAKERSFIELD, CA (WVUE) -

They say dog is man's best friend, but this cat begs to differ.

A little boy was riding his bike near his yard when a dog comes out of nowhere and attacks.

The boy is knocked to the ground and the dog began dragging him away when the heroic cat sprang into action, defending the helpless child.

A timestamp in the video says it was recorded Tuesday afternoon.

The boy's father, Roger Triantafilo, posted the video to YouTube Wednesday morning. He wrote the following description.

"My cat defends my son during a vicious dog attack and runs the dog off before he can do additional damage. Thankfully, my son is fine."

Triantafilo lives in Bakersfield, CA.

The boy was injured and required stitches. Beware when watching the video. After the cat saved the boy there are close-up images of the child's injuries.

It is unclear what happened to the dog.

    This year, more than 179 million Americans plan to partake in Halloween festivities, up from 171 million last year, spending is slated to reach a record high in survey history, according to the National Retail Federation (NRF).
