2 tornadoes reported in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) -

There were two reported tornadoes in Monroe County Monday night. Luckily, there was no damage reported as a result of the tornadoes, but residents said there were some tense moments.

After the severe weather cleared out of Dundee it left behind a nice evening, making way for a beautiful sunset. But at about 4:55 p.m., a tornado was reported in Dundee. About a half hour later, at 5:22, there was a report of tornado in Detroit Beach.

Sirens went off all throughout southeast Michigan. Ann Arbor resident Andrew Byrum went to Dundee to go fishing, but was actually driving through the storms for work.

"I drove from Ann Arbor out to Holland and then back, and it was every probably 20 minutes, it was sunshine, black skies, and then hail, and rain, and then sunshine, and then again. It just kept repeating that cycle for six hours. Sometimes visibility was down to 10 feet," said Byrum.

There have been no reports of damage from either tornado. There is also no word yet on what size each tornado will be rated.
