IOWA, LA (KPLC) -

A 34-year-old Iowa woman has been arrested on charges of simple burglary and theft over $500, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Desireah Annette Chapman has been accused of breaking into a home on Lightner Street in Iowa on May 2.

"The victim said he discovered Chapman loading items into the back of an SUV," Myers said Monday in a news release. "When Chapman saw the homeowner, she fled at a high rate of speed."

Myers said several items stolen from the home, including cleaning supplies, a tackle box, cast iron pots, a video game controller and several video games, were recovered.

Bond was set at $16,000.
