NEW YORK (WAFB) -

This year's NFL Draft turned out to be a very good one for the LSU Tigers.

According to a Wall Street Journal report, the LSU football team, led by Odell Beckham Jr. and eight of his teammates, finished the draft as the nation's best program.

The Journal ranked schools based on a point system assigned to the order of the draft.

Notre Dame finished second followed by Florida State and Alabama.

The WSJ did point out that as strong as the draft was for the Tigers and Irish, it did not necessary show on the field, with neither team making a major bowl game.

This year's big loser in the draft was the University of Texas. For the first time since 1939, the Longhorns did not have a player picked in the draft.
