SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -

A 23-year-old Sulphur man, a convicted sex offender, has been accused of using social media websites.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Wesley Todd Lummus has been charged with 10 counts on unlawful use of social networking websites and one count of failure to register as a sex offender.

"An investigation revealed he created several user profiles and accessed numerous social media websites, as prohibited for sex offenders of certain crime with juvenile victims," Myers said Monday in a news release. "Lummus also failed to provide every email address, screen name or other online identifiers to law enforcement, as required for all registered sex offenders."

Lummus, who was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile in February 2011, is being held on a $300,000 bond.
