Sulphur police arrest two in connection with robbery

SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -

Sulphur police have arrested a man they say robbed a woman as she was leaving a city office Wednesday afternoon.

Police Chief Lewis Coats told KPLC the woman was walking out of the Municipal Business Center on North Huntington Street around 4:30 p.m. when she was confronted and attacked by a man outside.

Coats said the man took the victim's bag and jumped into a getaway vehicle.

The suspect was arrested a short time later when the vehicle crashed at the Cal-Cam Fair ground on Lewis Street.

The driver of the vehicle and the robbery suspect were arrested.
