LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) -

The following ceremonies have been announced in observance of National Police Week and Peace Officers Memorial Day in Southwest Louisiana:

Lake Charles:

Memorial Service: May 12 at the Lake Charles Civic Center, located at 900 Lakeshore Drive. A Departmental Inspection of the Lake Charles Police Department will be held at 8:30 a.m., followed by a departmental photograph on the front steps of the facility and a memorial service at the Amphitheater. In the case of inclement weather, all May 12 events will be moved to May 13. All events are open to the public.

Memorial Service and Roll Call: May 14 at 9:30 a.m. at the CPSO Administration Building, located at 5400 E. Broad St. Louisiana State Police and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office will participate. The public is invited to attend.

Lafayette:

Police Memorial Day: May 15 at 6 p.m. at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, located at 400 Camellia Blvd. The Lafayette Police Department will participate. The public is invited to attend. A police motorcade will depart from the LPD at 5:30 p.m. and travel to the church.
