SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -

A Sulphur man has been re-arrested by deputies with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office.

Raymond "Daniel" Lowery, 26, was arrested on May 1 and charged with failure to comply with his annual in-person registration, which is required for all registered sex offenders. Lowery was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and later released on a $10,00 bond.

"Following his arrest, the investigation continued, and CPSO Sex Offender Unit detectives discovered (that) in 2013, Lowery coached and attended numerous t-ball games of an acquaintance's family member at a local recreation facility, which is a violation of his registration," said Kim Myers, spokeswoman for the Calcasieu Sheriff's Office, in a news release.

According to investigators, Lowery was convicted of indecent behavior with a 6-year-old in Vernon Parish in September 2009. Because of that conviction, Lowery is not allowed within 1,000 feet of any parks, schools or recreational facilities where children are present.

"On May 2, detectives located Lowery at an acquaintance's home in Lake Charles, where detectives also discovered a 7-week-old child was present," Myers said.

Lowery was re-arrested and booked into the CCC on charges of unlawful presence of a sex offender. Lowery is currently being held without bond.

Authorities say that the investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.
