LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) -

The Lake Charles Civic Ballet will present its Spring Performance on Sunday, May 18, at 3 p.m. at the Rosa Hart Theatre. Admission is free.

The performance will feature ballet, jazz and tap routines with students of the Lady Leah Lafargue School of Dance.

This year's works will include "Base Hit," which portrays a baseball team warming up for a game; "Prayer for Peace," which embodies prayers for peace in Jerusalem and the Middle East; and "Sittin' Pretty," which features a variety of energetic dances involving stools as props.

Senior Adrian Durham and LCCB principal dancer Grace Helms will also perform a pas de deux from Don Quixote.

"The 2014 performance promises to be a memorable event spotlighting the professional training of our area's future artists," said the LCCB in a news release.
