LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

A 44-year-old Lake Charles woman has been arrested on 21 counts of doctor shopping, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said vice detectives arrested Donna Y. Batchan twice in the last three days.

"A month-long investigation revealed she visited over 90 different doctors in Louisiana and Texas to obtain an excessive amount of controlled medication, including 2,500 Hydrocodone pills, between January 2010 and March 2014," Myers said Friday in a news release.

Batchan was charged with nine counts of prohibited acts all schedules and released on a $18,000 bond on Wednesday. She was arrested Friday on 12 additional counts of prohibited acts all schedules and released on a $27,500 bond.
