SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA (KPLC) -

A Jennings man has been arrested and charged with illegal possession of stolen things in the theft of guns from a Lake Arthur residence.

Aaron Albert Guidry, 42, was arrested by deputies with the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office. Deputies say they received information that Guidry was offering to sell guns similar to the ones that were reported stolen.

"Guidry was taken into custody without incident, and he directed deputies to the location of a stolen shotgun that he still had in his possession. Guidry was booked into the parish jail with no bond," said Chris Ivey, Commander of the Criminal Investigations Divisions with the JDPSO.

Lake Charles man punched victim, stole necklace at casino

A Lake Charles man has been arrested and charged with simple robbery, after authorities say he may have been involved in a January 2 incident at a local casino.

Deputies with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office responded to the incident and, upon arriving at the scene, were advised by the victim that a man had approached him in the restroom, punched him, and forcefully removed his gold necklace before fleeing. The necklace was valued at over $850.

After reviewing surveillance footage from the casino, authorities identified 22-year-old Tyler Smith as the suspect. When questioned, Smith confirmed the allegations.

Smith was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center before being released on a $7,500 bond set by Judge Sharon Wilson.
