SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -

A 26-year-old Sulphur man has been charged with failure to register as a sex offender.

Raymond Lowery was arrested Wednesday by deputies with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, after authorities say he failed to comply with his annual in-person registration, which is required for all registered sex offenders.

According to investigators, Lowery was convicted of indecent behavior with a 6-year-old in Vernon Parish in September 2009.

Lowery was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center, with his bond was set at $10,000 by Judge Robert Wyatt.
