McMurry Park in Sulphur will again play host to a softball tournament between the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) and a team featuring Olympic gold medalist Jennie Finch-Daigle.
This year's event, the Battle on the Bayou II, will be held June 20-21 at the park with games beginning at 5 p.m. each night.
Tickets to the event are $10 and will be available at all McDonald's locations in Calcasieu Parish. All proceeds benefit the WWAST. For sponsorship or donation information, call 337-528-4735.

The Battle on the Bayou II is being held in conjunction with the Jennie Finch Softball Camp, which will feature 2 days of instruction by professional coaches and players. Details on the camp can be found at http://www.jenniefinch.com/camp-overview.
In a news release, the WWAST said that its mission is "to raise awareness of the sacrifices and resilience of military personnel despite the challenges arising from being an amputee" and "to demonstrate that unlimited possibilities exist for those with disabilities."
