SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -

A 24-year-old Sulphur man has been arrested on charges of violating sex offender requirements, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said James Joseph Domingue was arrested Wednesday afternoon following a traffic stop on Agnes Lane in Sulphur.

Myers said Domingue did not possess any form of identification and deputies discovered that he had moved without notifying authorities within three days, both required for all registered sex offenders.

Domingue, who was convicted of simple rape in August 2011, was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on charges of failure to register as a sex offender and failure to comply with sex offender identification requirements.

According to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center, Domingue was charged with failure to register as a sex offender in December 2013. He was also arrested in July 2013 on charges resisting an officer by force and disturbing the peace.

Bond was pending.
