LSU gymnastics coach DD Breaux has been voted National Coach of the Year after leading her Lady Tigers to their highest finish in school history at the NCAA gymnastics championships this weekend.
It's the first time Breaux has won the honor. She just completed her 37th season as LSU's head coach.
The school has not released any information yet about the award, but family and friends leaked the news on social media Sunday night. An official announcement is expected Monday.
Breaux was a national finalist for the award in 1988, but this year's team spent nearly half the year ranked No. 1 in the nation and finished third behind co-champions Florida and Oklahoma in Saturday night's Super Six.
