Movies Under the Stars continues with 'Steel Magnolias'

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury has announced the Spring 2014 schedule for its Movies Under the Stars series.

The next showing in this year's lineup is "Steel Magnolias" on April 18 at 7 p.m. in Prien Lake Park. The event is free and open to the public, and attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets and refreshments. Snacks will also be available for purchase on-site.

Seating is first come, first served. The event may be canceled if inclement weather is expected.

Future dates for upcoming movies in the series include the following: "Despicable Me 2" on April 25. All movies will be shown at 7 p.m.

    The first-degree murder trial of Stacy Tyrone Johnson continued Monday.  KPLC's Theresa Schmidt is in the courtroom right now and is live tweeting more information.
