WESTLAKE, LA (KPLC) -

A 73-year-old Westlake man is facing a charge of second-degree battery after throwing bleach on a woman, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said Roy Wilson Penny was arrested Tuesday afternoon at a home in the 200 block of Maddox Drive in Westlake.

"Deputies discovered that Penny threw bleach on the victim during a verbal altercation," Myers said Wednesday in a news release. "The bleach caused lesions and burns to the victim's eyes. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment for her injuries."
