SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -

Sulphur student Haley Campbell was introduced at the student representative for a committee at the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) meeting on April 15.

Campbell will serve on the Academic Goals and Instructional Improvement Committee for 2014-2015.

Campbell is currently a junior at Sulphur High School. She is involved in the Sulphur High Key Club, Student Council, and the City of Sulphur Mayor's Youth Council.

"On behalf of BESE, I would like to welcome Haley as our new student representative," said Holly Boffy, BESE secretary-treasurer, in a news release. "The student perspective is unique and important, and we look forward to her input as the committee considers policy related to school and academic performance."
