WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Glen Miller, the man accused of the fatal shootings that took the lives of three people at two Jewish centers recently, sat down with WECT's Wayne Jackson in 1984 as a gubernatorial candidate for the state of North Carolina. During the interview Miller described his plan for white supremacy in the state and nation.

"There is a plot, and I'm not afraid to use the word plot, to destroy not only the white race, but Christianity as well in North Carolina and throughout our country," Miller stated in the interview. Miller went on to tell how he would fix the education system.

"White school children cannot get a decent education in integrated schools. Period," Miller said. He continued on the topic, "The only way we're gonna create an adequate school system is through segregation. Race mixing is race destruction."

Jackson questioned Miller's use of the term "race destruction" to which the white supremacist leader replied, "The white race is being systematically destroyed. In 1950 the white race was 90 percent of this country. Today (1984) we are 65 percent and dropping fast."

He continued on describing what a non-segregated United States would look like, "In a few years, by the turn of the century, or a little after we will be a minority here in our own land and we're not going to accept that."

Miller's segregated and supremacist remarks continued as he reiterated his views on the dismay of the white race.

"There is no future for white children, no future for white people unless drastic changes are made, and we are going to make those changes," said Miller referring to the KKK and his political agenda. At the time of this interview Miller was the leader of the Carolina Knights of the KKK.

Perhaps one of the most interesting and relative statements made by Miller, in light of the recent shooting, was his reason behind supporting black Presidential candidate Jesse Jackson in 1984 in the primary.

"He's the only man that I believe. The rest of those white race trader scallywags, I wouldn't waste 2 cents on the gas to go vote for them," explained Miller. "Jesse Jackson at least you know where he's coming from, he tells the truth. He also has the courage to speak out against the tremendous Jewish power in this country and I admire him for that."

Miller did not win the primary for governor in that year.

Miller is facing a capital murder charge and a premeditated first-degree murder charge in the death of three people at two Jewish center shootings that took place mid April.  Federal prosecutors are anticipating filing hate crime charges in the coming weeks, according to KCTV
