Man accused of kidnapping, threatening to kill ex-girlfriend

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man is in jail, accused of kidnapping and plotting to kill his ex-girlfriend.

Police say David Gordon was having financial problems, and his ex-girlfriend agreed to give him some money on Monday.

When they met up, police say Gordon began choking the woman, punching and smothering her.

Gordon then allegedly forced her in a car and threatened to drive off a bridge and kill her.

The victim was able to text her mom for help while she was in the car.

When Gordon stopped at his brother's house to allegedly ask for help hiding his ex-girlfriend's body, police showed up.

Gordon is facing aggravated assault and kidnapping charges, and is in jail on a $10,000 bond.
