GAUTIER, MS (WLOX) -

Straight-line winds are being blamed for flipping dozens of RV campers at the Santa Maria RV Park Monday night in Gautier. Jackson County EOC Director Earl Etheridge told WLOX News up to 25 campers and several vehicles were toppled.

Witnesses at the campground on Martin Bluff Road told us one man was trapped and had to be rescued by the fire department.

Nearby in Moss Point, Police Chief Keith Davis said crews were dealing with downed power lines and several trees that were toppled over on Frank Griffin Road off Highway 613. The fire department was using chainsaws to take down the trees that knocked down power lines. One power line caught fire, but it was quickly extinguished.
