Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Southwest Louisiana

SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA (KPLC) -

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for all of Southwest Louisiana.

The watch, which includes Calcasieu, Beauregard, Allen, Cameron, Jeff Davis and Vermilion parishes, will remain in effect until 9 p.m. Monday.

Thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph and large hail greater than 1 inch in diameter will be possible this afternoon and early evening across all of Southwest Louisiana.
