Former NFL player accused of shooting former LSU player

Good Afternoon,

Lee Peck in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we are working on today.

Former LSU linebacker Tahj Jones is hospitalized in serious condition following an overnight shooting in Sulphur. Police have arrested suspect Brandon Winey, who is also a former LSU & NFL player. KPLC's Monica Grimaldo has the details of what led to the shooting.

Plus, they proudly served our country and now reside at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home. KPLC's Haley Rush shows you how the simple things in life still mean a lot to these veterans and how the community is helping give back.

And a little spring cleaning never hurt anyone. We take you out to Trash Bash and Shred Fest. We're also back in DeQuincy as hundreds show up for the Railroad Days Festival.

The weather couldn't be better… Not a cloud in the sky. Meteorologist Zack Fradella tells us what we can expect for Sunday.

We'll see you tonight at Six for these stories and more. Until then, we're always on at kplctv.com.
