'Tom and Chee' grilled cheese restaurant coming to Maumee

MAUMEE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

"Tom and Chee," a gourmet grilled chesses restaurant is coming to Maumee.

The first Toledo-area location of the Cincinnati based restaurant will open next month in the Dussel Shops strip mall along Dussel Drive.

"We're excited it's a great area. There is a ton of traffic here and arrow head park has a big volume of people," said owner Tim Adams.

The restaurant offers several unique variations on the classic sandwich, including the "Grilled Mac + Cheese Sandwich," the "Hippy + Chee Sandwich," and even a grilled cheese between two donuts.

Nearby businesses are happy to hear another is joining the strip mall.

"Just having foot traffic having the people come into the plaza is a great boost for us so they can see us and try us out," said Kristina White, who works at The Cookie Lady next door.

Twenty employees have already been hired, but applications are still being accepted. To apply, visit http://www.tomandchee.com/.
