LONGVILLE, LA (KPLC) -

A Longville man's second-degree murder trial will begin Aug. 18.

The trial of Randal Langley, 51, was scheduled to begin April 14 but was refixed on Monday.

Authorities claim Langley shot his wife Sherry Langley at their home on Oct. 13.

Authorities said Langley fled the scene, which prompted a multi-parish, multi-agency search effort. He was captured after crashing his vehicle in Merryville.

Langley, who entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity, was indicted in December and remains in the Beauregard Parish jail on a $1.5 million bond.
