Police: Goodlettsville man says God told him to kill woman

GOODLETTSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A man has told police that God told him to kill the woman whose body was found in a storage shed in Goodlettsville.

Police say the woman's body was found in the storage closet behind 1705 Greens Circle at the Greens of Rivergate apartment complex.

The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Yolanda Byrd Tashauna from Palm Bay, FL.

Police say she had multiple stab wounds and likely died from those wounds.

Tashauna was in town to visit a friend at the apartment complex and is believed to have arrived in town Thursday morning.

The son of the friend she was visiting, 22-year-old Jamon French, has confessed to her murder.

Police say French took Tashauna's rental vehicle and other personal items.

According to police, they believe the motive for the stabbing was robbery but say French told them that God told him to kill her.

Investigators are still working to find the car, which is a white 2014 Kia Forte with Kentucky tag 890PTY.
