CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

Authorities have asked for help in identifying two white men in connection with suspicious incidents reported in Westlake and Moss Bluff.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman James McGee said the men, one young and the other old, have been seen in the area trying to demonstrate and sell vacuum cleaners.

McGee said deputies were called to a home on Chay Drive in Moss Bluff on Feb. 28 and a home on Miller Avenue in Westlake on April 1.

In both cases, a young man asked the homeowner to demonstrate a vacuum cleaner. Both homeowners refused and the suspect was seen getting into a white 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe with a Louisiana license plate. The older man was seen driving the vehicle.

"In both incidents, the Sheriff's Office conducted an extensive search of the area but was unable to locate the suspects," McGee said. "It is unknown if (these men) have the required permits to sell merchandise door-to-door in Calcasieu Parish."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 337-491-3605.
