Ft. Hood shooting update, Jindal's alternative health plan, tax vote talk

Good Thursday morning to you!  Britney Glaser here with a look at what's in store on today's Sunrise:

*The all clear has been given at Ft. Hood after another deadly shooting at the Army post.  We'll tell you about the shooter that is said to have had PTSD, the number of people killed and how many are in the hospital this morning.

*Governor Bobby Jindal is pitching an alternative to Obamacare.  He says the Affordable Care Act should be repealed in its entirety, but says fellow Republicans need to offer a better way.  Find out about the plan he's suggesting.

*New information reveals the Obama administration secretly financed a social network in Cuba to stir political unrest and undermine the country's Communist government.  We'll tell you about the Associated Press investigation that is shedding light on the story this morning.

*Your annual springtime crawfish boil may be hard to come by this season.  Crawfish farmers are saying crawfish aren't getting into the traps like they should be because of water temperature.  Find out what that means for crawfish prices.

*There are new taxes on the ballot in Calcasieu Parish for this Saturday's election.  We will have a live interview with Parish Administrator Bryan Beam about these and how they could affect your community.

*Meteorologist Ben Terry says there's a threat for severe weather tonight.  He'll have an hour-by-hour look at the increasing chance for strong storms, as well as the weekend outlook.

    The State Bond Commission has awarded Calcasieu and Vernon parishes millions of dollars for public improvement projects, State Treasurer Ron Henson announced Friday. The commission approved $290.7 million for projects statewide during its August meeting, according to Henson's office.

    Melissa Gregory spends her sunny days outdoors feeding ducks near the Lake Charles Veterans Memorial Park. "It's perfect conditions," said Gregory about the sunny day because it helps her relax and get rid of stress, but lately with all the rain she's been feeling stressed. "I feel kind of cooped up and I feel like I can't go outside, and I have to hide under the roof or stay in the house or hide under the umbrella," she said.
