DERIDDER, LA (KPLC) -

A 51-year-old DeRidder woman has been charged with felony theft after admitting to stealing from her employer, authorities said.

DeRidder Deputy Chief Christopher Rudy said Lisa Ernst turned herself in last week.

"Ernst stated she had been stealing money via wire transfers for approximately 11 of the 15 years of employment," Rudy said Monday in a news release. "Her statements were confirmed through her employer."

Rudy said the FBI was contacted based on the alleged wire fraud.

"The investigation by both agencies is ongoing," Rudy said.

Bond was set at $50,000.
