SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA (KPLC) -

Charges have been dropped against a 37-year-old Lake Charles man who had originally been accused of stalking, domestic abuse, aggravated assault and violations of protective orders.

The charges against Steven Romalice Lewis were rejected by the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney's Office on June 9 in the 14th Judicial District Court.

According to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center, Lewis was arrested by city police in May at his home.

Lewis had been previously arrested in October 2013 on a stalking charge.

 

Texas men charged with drug possession

Two Texas men are facing felony drug charges, according to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

Ruben Ray Palma, 30, and Manuel Ramirez, 39, were arrested by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office Friday morning on Interstate 10 near Sulphur.

Ramirez was charged with possession of 400 or more grams of cocaine and first-offense marijuana possession. Palma was charged with drug possession with intent to distribute and first-offense marijuana possession.

Bond for both men was set $250,000.

 

Mississippi man charged with third-offense DWI

A 28-year-old Mississippi man has been charged with third-offense DWI and driving with a suspended license, according to records from the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

Antoine O'Neal Henry was arrested late Friday night while driving east on Interstate 10 near Sulphur.

Henry was also charged with possession of alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle and driving on a roadway laned for traffic.

Bond was set at $18,500.

 

Arrest Reports

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office reported the following arrests:

• Cody Marquie Kennerson, 24, Lake Charles: third-offense marijuana possession, 17 counts of direct contempt of court. Bond: $32,000.

• Darrell Keith Larnett Jr., 18, Lake Charles: theft over $1,500, theft under $500, two counts simple battery, criminal trespass. Bond: $21,000.

• Cody Tremain Joseph, 27, Lake Charles: illegal carrying of weapons in presence of drugs, first-offense marijuana possession, drug possession in a drug-free zone, possession of drug paraphernalia, direct contempt of court. Bond: $20,500.

• Travis Wayne Willard, 50, Lake Charles: second-degree battery, two counts of simple battery. Bond: $17,500.

• Dang Phi Nguyen, 45, Slidell: aggravated battery. Bond: $15,000.

• Latrice Danielle Collins, 33, Lake Charles: first-degree robbery, simple criminal damage to property $500 to $50,000. Bond: $12,500.

• Derrick Lee Burnworth, 35, Sulphur: drug possession. Bond: $10,000.

• Angela Monique Batchelor, 38, Iowa: drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, five counts of direct contempt of court. Bond: $10,000.

• John Hebert Peshoff, 62, Westlake: aggravated second-degree battery. Bond: $10,000.
